CHRISTIANS FROM MOLDOVA URGE YOU: DO NOT COMMIT THE BLASPHEMY AGAINST OUR SAVIOR

Yesterday Thursday, May 18, 2006 by about 5 o'clock in the afternoon about two hundred and fifty Christians had gathered in front of the cinema “Patria” as a way to express discontent toward the country’s political leaders who failed to show any reaction to the message of orthodox Christians from Moldova expressed on the part of the Metropolitanate regarding premiering of the movie in our country making blasphemy of our Savior. [1]  People of different age and social categories were  holding the placards bearing the following  inscription: “ To the Faithful Sons and Daughters of the Orthodox Church – let you oppose the effects of aberrations brought from the West”, “Betrayers of the Orthodoxy are the betrayers of our people”, “ Do not make our soul filthy” (etc.). They have expressed their indignation and protest toward the State  governing body who failed to show the negative reaction to what is going on today in the capital of our republic.

A number of priests from Chisinau as well priests from other parts of Moldova joined the protest actions. Later on vicar of the Metropolitanate of Chisinau and All Moldova – Petru joined also the protest actions in signs of solidarity. More than an hour he talked to the passers – by gathered around him explaining them the mistake they can make in case they allow blasphemy against our Savior.
Participants of the manifestation said office as well as intonated various church songs and sang "your resurrection, o Christ our Savior”. In the performance of their duty, law enforcement officials did not apply military force against peaceful people as they did last time in February of 2005 when 70 Christians were brutally sequestrated and thrown against their will into the filthy, dirty remand prison for their protest against passports bearing the number of the name of Satan that is 666.

Manifestations in the center of the capital intended to preclude the fulfillment of their aims. Today everybody understands the purpose as well as intentions of the democracy exported from the West promoting apostasy from God. Featuring this movie in Moldova   indulges hatred toward the Orthodox Christians which according to the latest census form 93, 4% of all people from Moldova, infringing their rights to express their religious belief. A number of our parliamentarists as well as ministers do it with tacit agreements and unilateral action making the country face more and more apparently the acute social crisis as well as fall sheer into a chasm of unfaith.

Approximately two hours later after the beginning of the manifestation, Christian delegation composed of His beatitude vicar of the Metropolitanate of Chisinau and All Moldova – Petru, protopope - Anatolie Cibric, head of the Humanist Party -  Mr. Ion Mereuţă, and Aliona Batca – the journalist in the framework of the Metropolitanate department entered the hall of the cinema. Economical director - Mihai Ceban as well as all above mentioned officials has spent approximately an hour discussing the ominous consequences this movie might have for our country suggesting a very severe injury on the religious consciousness of our Christians ultimately leaving the negative feedback in the severest and the most abhorrent manner possible on our people secular traditions.

Episcope Petru giving a speech in front of an audience at the end of the discussion with above mentioned officials said: the cinema “Patria” staff promised to stop showing the movie under discussion on its screen beginning the Monday May, 22. Let us wait and see if the staff of the above mentioned enterprise can keep promise.

Despite the fact that some of our fellow citizens knew they were committing the sin, they passed through the crowd and entered the hall of the cinema pursuing the aim of watching the movie that had to be screened at 7 o’clock in the evening. It was evident part of them were foreigners, others were the representatives of such organizations like „Gender Doc”. Though, to our astonishment some of the people changed their mind and did not go to watch the movie.

At the end of their manifestation Christians headed towards the Stephen the Great and the Saint Monument where protopope Anatolie Cibric read out the Declaration addressed to the governing body of the country. The Declaration will be publicized later this month. Regarding the issue Priest Anatolie mentioned that screening of this movie at the same time in 68 states represents nothing else but satanic ritual blaspheming our Redeemer Jesus Christ to the level going beyond ordinary reasonable guesses representing the first case regarding the human history. This is the first time when due to scientific and technological progress sin enjoys so much “positive” attention. Later on, Mr. Ion Mereuţă took the floor at the same monument to Stephen the Great and the Saint saying: It’s a shame as to us to screen such movie on this territory that inspired thousands of folk creations (the best known is the ballad “Miorita” - The Ewe Lamb). It’s a shame as to us even to admit screening of this movie in Moldova defended by Hospodar for uncountable times with cross and sword in his hand from pagan invaders.

Following argument seems to present a paradox: line of duty law enforcement bodies were not even confused staying in front of the Christians who came holding icons and crosses in front of the great hospodar (as everybody knows also holding the cross). It’s worth noticing that practically none of the journalists as well as reporters staying some time ago in front of the cinema “Patria” striving to seize the moments attracting the eyes of people were not now present in front of the great defender of orthodoxy Hospodar of Moldova  - Stephen the Great. It’s mostly probable they felt greatly ashamed because the difference between what was exposed and what was presented is great and at the same time very contradictory. Now it’s very easy to predict the contents of commentaries our compatriots and at the same time defenders of “human rights”, “western freedom” and “American democracy” are going to spread in Moldovan mass – media regarding the protest manifestations in the center of Chisinau.

[1] Screening of the movie “The Da Vinci Code” by Dan Brown is meant.
